I’m reading this book by Wangari Maathai to know more about different aspects of Kenyan society before I go. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t know much to begin with. But this woman is absolutely incredible and I highly recommend her memoirs to anyone who considers him/herself to be a feminist, a humanitarian, or just a good human. I’m only half-way through it but it’s been very eye-opening so far.
Cross out everything that you have read… This one is going to be sad for me. Average is six. I’ve read seventeen. :) That makes me feel a bit better.
